Hi, I’m Velislav — and welcome to Smart Marketing Bites.

I’m a marketing professional based in Sofia, Bulgaria, with 20+ years of hands-on experience building marketing strategies that deliver real results.

My background combines strong academic foundations and real-world execution. I hold a degree in Business Administration from Lindenwood University (Missouri, USA) and an Advertising degree from Mojave Community College (Arizona, USA)—but what truly shaped my career is working inside industries where performance matters every day.

Over the years, I’ve worked across a wide range of markets and business models—from high-pressure, fast-moving environments like the casino industry, to the long-term relationship-driven world of hospitality and real estate, as well as growing brands in food & beverage, tech, and services.

Where I’ve built experience

My marketing journey started in the casino industry, where I worked with Harrah’s Entertainment (Laughlin, Nevada) as a Marketing Specialist supporting direct marketing operations. That experience gave me a deep understanding of customer behavior, loyalty systems, promotions, and data-driven decision-making.

From there, I expanded into the hospitality industry, working as a Marketing Manager with respected hotel brands such as Hyatt, Sol Meliá, and Best Western—where I focused on positioning, campaigns, customer retention, and building strong guest experiences.

I’ve also developed marketing strategies, customer journeys, and loyalty solutions for brands and companies such as:
